Veris builds well-diversified portfolios customized for our clients’ financial and impact goals. We believe investors can have positive social and environmental impact across asset classes and have focused expertise in four thematic areas.
Intersectionality & Our Thematic Approach to Impact Investing
We believe interconnected challenges require an intersectional approach to maximize our impact and achieve sustainable, long-term positive impact.
We seek and invest in intentional opportunities connected to our four core impact investment themes across asset classes in public and private markets. Veris takes an intersectional approach in selecting our investment themes because we recognize that social and environmental challenges are complex and intertwined.
Climate Solutions and the Environment
We aim to mitigate and adapt to climate change through investments for various solutions including renewables, such as solar and wind power; energy circularity and energy-efficiency; green consumer products; sustainable waste management; and natural resource conservation. We seek investment managers who aim to create a more sustainable planet through innovation and regeneration.
Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture
Agriculture produces significant greenhouse gas emissions and uses unsustainable practices that threaten natural ecosystems. With the world population estimated to reach nine billion by 2040, agriculture systems management must improve to increase productivity, ensure food security, preserve biodiversity, reduce, and capture emissions, and improve farmers’ financial well-being. We seek innovative, sustainable approaches to agriculture, preferably regenerative solutions.
Racial and Gender Equity
When women and People of Color fully participate, we believe social change and economic performance accelerate. This investment strategy focuses on removing obstacles and improving outcomes for People of Color and/or women as workers, communities, clients, entrepreneurs, or leaders and executives. When possible, we seek solutions with thematic intersectionality, such as simultaneously advancing gender and racial equity.
Community Wealth Building
The bottom half of Americans have had almost zero wage growth over three decades, putting social mobility, employment, and education opportunities out of reach for millions.* We invest in solutions that seek to support marginalized communities and help to eliminate discrimination, promote human rights, and build community wealth while ensuring sustainable economic growth. *Source: Economic Policy Institute
