Veris’ 2024 Impact Report shares the social and environmental outcomes our clients collectively achieved in one year through their investments and stories of innovators we have supported who are striving to make this a more just, equitable, and sustainable world.
Every year Veris chooses a theme for our Impact Report and democracy is our theme for 2024. Our firm, along with many of our clients and colleagues in the impact investing sector, have been concerned by recent anti-democratic trends globally. We believe our sector’s efforts are likely to become even more crucial to developing solutions to the grave social and environmental challenges we face.
In her introductory letter, Veris’ CEO Stephanie Cohn Rupp shares her perspective on the promise of democracy, and the risks we may face if we are unable to preserve this system of government. Our Co-Chief Investment Officers Michael Lent and Roraj Pradhananga also share their analysis of the policy proposals of the incoming administration in the United States, and their potential future impact from both an economic and policy perspective.
“We need not wait until 2026 or 2028 to vote for change. We have opportunities to express our values and work for our vision of the future every day. Remember, financial capital can be political capital. Leveraging our financial system and our investments to ensure more equity, justice, and sustainability is attained is the worthiest cause to fight for that I can imagine.”
— Stephanie Cohn Rupp in her 2024 CEO letter
